1940s Vintage WOOLRICH Buffalo Plaid MACKINAW HUNTING COAT Jacket Size 42 N/R:

Scarce vintage field or hunting coat by Woolrich Woolen Mills, Woolrich, Pennsylvania, circa 1940s–1950s, of heavy wool in a “buffalo plaid” pattern in red and black, the front with six symmetrical pockets with brass snap closures bearing the company name, the front and cuff buttons of red bakelite or a similar early plastic, the back with two large pockets with pointed vertical flaps, size 42, with original size tag and embroidered Woolrich tag on the interior. Some areas of wear and fraying to cuff ends (which could be repaired); a few tears to lining; very small (about half-inch) vertical seam separation at bottom center of collar in the back (easily fixed and completely hidden when jacket is worn normally); and one front button replaced. Despite these points, the jacket is in fully wearable, nicely preserved condition overall, the fabric remaining sturdy and free of moth or other damage, a little TLC bringing the garment back to full vintage glory.
