Vintage Copeland Spode Toby jug, with the image ofWinston Churchill. Dates to 1941 and still has original $18.95 price stickerfrom Julius Garfinckel & Co. department store in Washington, DC where my grandmotherbought it when she was furnishing her new house that same year. It sat for 60years in the same place in her living room and then went to my mother’s house.I am now selling it for my mother.

This fabulous piece is in excellent condition, free of chips,cracks, crazing and repairs. It looks like it just came out of the store! Only the yellowed price sticker give an indication of its age - plus the fact that Garfinckel\'s has been out of business for years.

The bottom also features a printed mark and No: F447. Made inEngland. Approximate measurements: 8.5\"H x 5 1/8\" x 4.25\"

Designed by Eric Olsen during World War II, this Copeland Spode Toby jug commemorates the AtlanticCharter. There was a companion FDR piece, but my grandparents were devout Republicans and, as my mother says, \"Doyou think my parents would buy anything with Roosevelt’s image? Notbloody likely.\"
