1941 PUEBLO INDIANS LOVELY ORIG COLOR RUBBER-BLOCK PRINT HOPI HUMIS RAINBOW MASK:
$19.95

Rubber-block hand-printed by Jean Goodwin, Arthur Ames, and A.J. Evans from paintings by Virginia More Roediger in 1941 for the U.C. Berkeley Press publication of Roediger\'s definitive study of CEREMONIAL COSTUMES OF THE PUEBLO INDIANS. This is Plate #16, \"HOPI HUMIS RAINBOW AND GERMINATION MASK\", and measures approx. 8\" x 11\". Purity and density of color saturation is breathtaking due to the unique and very labor-intensive printing process, and Roediger\'s designs are equally pure as well as iconic for their subjects, many of which look exactly like vintage Kachina dolls. Once they are properly matted and framed by you, these original 1940s vintage Ethnographic plates will please your eye and decor much more than any modern lithographic artworks, at a far lower cost, and all colors are rich and bright or delicately sublime, as originally printed. Any unusual condition issues will be noted where necessary, otherwise all plates are Fine unabused vintage 1941 prints. In my retail gallery some 10 years ago, I sold a number of these for prices ranging from $175 to $350 each, depending on the popularity of the image.Priced well below market rate for a work of this quality. Thank you for your consideration, Daniel Strebin, Postermandan
