This is a rare and original World War Two vintage United States Army issuemap of the extreme North of Italy and bordering countries prepared under thedirection of the Chief of Engineers.

It details the areas of Villach, Tranj and Klagenfurt. These maps wereprepared to assist in the invasion of Italy where the Allied forces wereinvolved in hard fighting from 1943 until the end of the war.

It is dated 1943, made by the U.S. Army map service - A.M.S. WashingtonD.C., prepared under the direction of the U.S. Army Chief of Engineers.

It is headedITALY ROAD MAP1:200,000for use by Warand Navy Department Agencies only - Not for sale or distribution.

There is a Glossary of terms, a Legend (or key to symbols) as well as anindex at the bottom of the map which shows the area of Italycovered inthis individual map sheet.

It is in superb good clean, complete condition for its 74 years age. It hassome minor signs of use and the odd area of age fading. See photos forcondition report.

I am based in London, England and I obtained an almost complete set of these(29 of 30) some time ago for my militaria collection – they were left here bythe US Army at the end of the war.
