A Prayer Book for Catholics.NY: Benziger Bros, c1926-1938.Rare WWII Catholic Missal/ prayer book, in good shape; bound in original thin stock binding and covers with gold plated/steel bulletproof cover that reads \' May The Lord Be With You.\' These were intended to be kept over the soldiers hearts and could \'deflect\' bullets from piercing the heart with the Lord\'s Testament/ Missal/ Prayer Book. Neat piece of history, complete and well kept. Gold-plated brass metal cover with little wear, the gold plating blindingly shiny, as shown. Binding firm and pages clean; includes frontis plate as well as some decorative borders throughout. Red page edges. Includes original cardboard box, unmarked, missing fold-ins. No signatures. A nice piece of history in remarkable shape; rarely found in Catholic form (usually KJV New Testaments), and with the original cardboard mailing case.
