Here\'s a handsome Parker 51 Vacumatic from 1946 in India Black with a gold filled blue diamond cap. The pen has been fully restored and is in nice cosmetic and functional condition. This is a full-sized pen measuring 5 3/8\" capped.The filler unit has been pulled, a new diaphragm installed, and all components carefully cleaned and replaced. The pen fills properly and writes as it should.Though it shows its years a bit, this 51 presents very well. The gold filled cap is free of brassing and very clean save for two dings. The clip is tight. The honey colored jewel does show some scratches. The Lucite parts have been buffed to a high shine with just a few small signs of use, and the barrel/blind cap joint has no gaps or ridges. The imprint is clear and fully readable with the date code indicating assembly in Toronto, Q2 1946 (T6 with two dots). Barrel clutch ring still has its original gold wash. There is a hairline crack in the barrel at the joint where it meets the blind cap. There is no separation or leakage and the pen functions properly. See last photo before the writing sample. The nib in this 51 is a sweet 14k gold fine point, adjusted for flow and smoothness and suitable for many different types of writing. A classic Parker 51 Vacumatic ready to become your daily user!
