Teak Scissor Leg Writing Desk, Denmark, c. early 1950sPlease read our payment terms below prior to offerding, thank you.MANY IMAGES ARE BELOW DESCRIPTIONThis is an early one and really a terrific piece with lots of style for those looking for a more compact design. It has the perfect amount of usable work space and function of a typical large desk, with a much more room friendly footprint.The design of the desk gives off a light and airy feel while giving you a generous size top workspace. It is finished on all sides so placement in the middle of a room will look great. Comprised of both solid teak and teak veneer over wood (no particle board). The top has a subtle yet very pretty slightly curved shape along the sitting side. Have a look at the few side pics below that show the curve, its very pretty. There are 3 drawers on the sitting side plus a locking hinged door storage area giving plenty of storage. On the front there is a full width book / display shelf. The drawers have lovely sculptural handles and the top drawer and hinge door lock (original key is included).Legs are solid teak and can be removed for shipping via Greyhound or left on for Blanker Wrap freight (see options for shipping below)measurements47 1/4 wide” by 23\" deep by 28 1/4” high. The interiors of each drawer are 1\" wide by 10 1/2” by deep by 2 5/8” height. The seat area opening is 17” wide. Door compartment interior is 11 1/2\" wide by 11\" deep by 10 3/8\" high.conditionIn very good condition with some wear commensurate with its age. Top has some expected age wear and marks, but nothing offensive to the overall appearance. One drawer has a little edge chip to the teak veneer that we forgot to photograph. Greyhound or Blanket Wrap FreightGREYHOUND: This will be $145.00 including packing. Keep in mind the long size as you need a vehicle large enough to pick up unless you elect home delivery (read below).
Package(s) are shipped to your local Greyhound station OR MOST Greyhound stations now offer HOME DELIVERY for a fee. If you would like this option, you must let us know as that needs to be arranged by US when we drop it off. Otherwise they call you when in to pick up. VERY IMPORTANT: Insurance with Greyhound has a maximum of $300. It is a VERY SAFE method of transport as the pieces are simply placed in the luggage area of the bus and we have shipped hundreds of packages through them over the years and only one piece ever lost. That said, by electing Greyhound shipping you (the buyer) are responsible for anything above $300 in an insurance claim. Please read that again….we are NOT responsible for providing a refund should a package be lost or damaged by Greyhound. If you are concerned about insurance, we suggest using the blanket wrap shipping option below.
BLANKET WRAP FREIGHT TO YOUR DOOR: If you choose this option, we are putting a flat rate of $375.00, door to door to MOST anywhere in the continental mainland USA (see note below). Lately quotes have been coming in for pieces along this size at $450+, but we will cover anything over the $375.00. Note: We say \"most anywhere\" because if you reside in a remote area very far away from any major city, please inquire with us as the cost may be higher. Blanket Wrap freight can take anywhere from 2 to 5 weeks depending on your location and the freight co trucking schedules. Average time once it is picked up from us is about 14 business days. If you would rather use your own blanket wrap shipper via a service like USHIP (you may be able to get a less expensive blanket wrap rate), that is fine as long as they pick it up from us and do not require the item to be boxed.

Buyer pays shipping and insurance or can may pick up in the Los Angeles area. We ship exclusively by UPS and Greyhound within the USA (pieces too large for these carriers will ship via blanket wrap freight). PLEASE ALLOW A UP TO 5 BUSINESS DAYS for items to packed. Larger items that require special packaging may take a little longer. Unlike many sellers, we do not just loosely toss your items in a used old “soft” box and send it on its way destined to be damaged. We take GREAT CARE and expense in both money and time in packing your piece. We use 99% new materials (all produced from recycled sources) and pack the right way every time (it’s not at all uncommon for a small furniture piece to take us 2+ hours to pack). We try and keep “in stock” a full assortment of shipping supplies, but sometimes certain size boxes etc. need to be ordered. We kindly ask that you please allow us a little time for this. In return, we assure you it will arrive safe and secure ready for your enjoyment. THE REST
We sell VINTAGE items, thus they are USED and should be expected as such. If you’re seeking zero wear, age or patina, we would suggest you buy “new”.
