Excellent and beautiful vintage item of Stilnovo ArteLuce lighting era.

Louis Kalff (1897-1976) was a pioneering industrial designer in the Netherlands during the first half of the 20th century.

With a solid background including studies in furniture design, sculpture, ceramics and architecture, he began his employment in 1924 at Phillips, consumer electronics company marketing department. In 1929 he started a department for design of lighting products, and was later appointed responsible for the lighting sections of the World Exhibitions in Barcelona, Antwerp and Paris. He created this lamp during his years as Head of the Lighting Sections of the World Exhibitions in Barcelona, Antwerp and Paris for lampshade is made of aluminium lacquered in a blackmatt finish

The stand is also lacquered in a matt blackfinish. The tripod base is metal lacquered in a bronze finish.

The originalswitch is located on the base.Thelamptakesone Edison screw (screwfit) bulb. It is fitted witha EU plug. As with all vintage electrical equipment, it is advisable tohaveit checked by a qualified electrician before use. The chrome capped bulb is not included in the price however this can be purchasedseparatelyfor good vintage condition and in good working order. The lampshade, stand and metal tripod base are all in good vintage condition. The matt black finish on the lampshade is in excellent condition. Overall some wear to the lamp however this is conducive to the vintage age of the lamp.All structural components of the lamp including fittings, lampshade, metal arm are the original 1950s product.The lamp is in a vintage state however it has been professionally re-sprayed bringing it back to its form glory andbeautywithout compromising the look or retro value of the lampshade: 28 cm
