This is an exceptionally rare and special piece. This is an original printed proof page for the classic newspaper comics strip Peanuts, by the legendary Charles M. Schultz (legendary writer and artist of the Peanuts strip, and creator of Snoopy, Charly Brown, Woodstock, Linus, Lucy, Peppermint Patty, Pigpen, Schroeder, Marcie, Sally, Franklin, Rerun, etc.). This large-size proof sheet is for an entire week\'s worth of strips from October 27 - November 1, 1952. It includes 6 complete daily strips together on one sheet (October 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, and November 1). Featured are very early versions of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, and Lucy. You can see tiny Snoopy and baby Linus in the very first strip, and this is from within the first couple of months of Linus\' first appearance! And there are some very funny examples included, with some pumpkin and Halloween humor! You can also see a big difference from what the characters would develop into!

The page is very large, and measures approximately 13 3/4\" by 21 1/2\". It is on smooth coated quality stock, not regular paper (and again, please note this is a printed proof, it is not the hand-drawn original artwork). It has some handling wear, but it is in very good overall condition, particularly for its age (more than 65 years old!) and its incredible rarity. There is a light water stain and some paper rippling near the bottom middle edge (around the area of the \"220\" in the Syndicate address), but it is actually not really very noticeable. The page was folded down the middle (between the 3 strips on the left side, and 3 strips on the right side), which was common practice. There are not likely to be many surviving Peanuts proofs, which would of course make this piece even rarer, and getting one from so early in the strip\'s history is truly outstanding. This is a beautiful piece that would be the centerpiece of any collection for a fan of the strip or the Peanuts cartoons, and would look fantastic framed and prominently displayed.

Please note that this is an authentic piece from the 1950\'s, not something made for a later reprint or collection book. We have been told there are reprint production art pieces being listed by other sellers that make them seem to be old and from original printings, even though they are not (for example, older production art did not have the words on a separate sheet from the images. Those kinds of things were only done much more recently, using computer technology). We advise buyers to be careful, as there are disreputable sellers tricking many people into believing they are purchasing items that are older and more valuable than what they actually are. Some sellers simply do not state their items are from reprints, while others make very long listings and put a tiny mention about reprints buried deep in the listing, and/or use a hard-to-read font color (like yellow) to prevent buyers from seeing this information. Unfortunately, everything else in the listing (the title, pictures of the cover of the comic from the 1st printing, etc.) makes you think you are buying something from an original printing, and has allowed this to continue despite many buyers saying that they have been taken for a ride and ripped off. This item is a genuine proof from the \'50\'s, not something made for a reprint. We clearly differentiate items from original printings and items from reprints, so you can buy with to be made within 7 days of sale close.
