Fantasticcolor photograph of the fireball from the Grable shoton May 25, 1953. Grable was part of the Upshot-Knothole Operation: atest of a nuclear artillery projectile fired from anartillery piece with a 280 mm bore (11 inch) at the Nevada Test Site. The shell was 1384mm (4.5ft) long and weighed 365kg (805lb). It was fired from a special, very large, artillery piece, nicknamed the \"Atomic Annie\", built by the Artillery Test Unit of Fort Sill, Oklahoma
