Here\'s a really sharp looking EMERSON Model 838 Hybrid Sub-Miniature and TransistorAM radio. The battery compartments are clean, and I don\'t see any evidence of corrosion. It\'s in wonderful condition for a radio of this vintage. There are no cracks or hairlines, and the case shines LN.I used my 3 AAA flashlight Battery Holder for the A Battery, andfive9V batteries daisy chained for the B battery, and the radio immediatelycame to life. Stations were heard at several spots on the dial with good volume and sensitivity. It\'s quite a stunning color combination of Maroon and Gold, and gets unsolicited praise when ever seen by other fellow collectors!The Main Tuning and Volume both operate easily and smoothly.
