You are offerding on a superb pre-smoked, or better, barely used briar pipe. It is a medium in size, is a vintage briar pipe made by Grappin Fils & Cie for their brand of pipe production Graco, located at that time in St. Claude, France. This pipe was made in the years 1960s or even an earlier period. It is a pretty and unusual volcano shaped pipe, with the bottom slightly rounded as to form the hull of a ship and an oval shank but rather flattened. It shows a very crisp nomenclature as listed stampings: an \"Elite\" grade or pipe-line, a \"Bruyere Extra\", a \"Saint-Claude\" and finally a number of the shape \"8051\". The finishing is a transparent natural smooth which gives a glimpse a remarkable crosscut of the briar that covers all of the bowl and the stem, and that emphasizes a unique bird\'s eye on both the sides of the bowl. The mouthpiece is vulcanite, in tapered shape, but rather continuing the flattened shape of the shank. A brief history of Graco pipes
According to what I learned from Pipephil the brand name \"Graco\" is a brand of Grappin Fils & Cie. The corporate issued from the merger of Grappin-Brochot and Grappin-Dalloz in 1924 went out of business in 1968. In 1904 André Grappin-Brochot acquired the plant situated at 3, 5 passage de la Cheneau (Saint Claude) and in 1906 he establishes his society. In the 1920’s the buildings were enlarged during this period. In 1924 the firms Grappin-Brochot and Grappin-Dalloz (rue Christin) merged becoming the Grappin Fils & Cie. André\'s and Adolf\'s sons managed the corporate and established in Bruxelles another plant directed by Pierre, André\'s son. Finally, in 1966 Claude, Adolf\'s grandson replaced Pierre. The Belgian plant exported 90% of its production.

My pictures are high quality and detailed. Please enlarge the pictures and examine them thoroughly before offerding. Pictures are of the LEFT side of the pipe, the RIGHT side, the FRONT of the bowl, the TOP of the bowl / shank / stem, and the bottom of the bowl / shank / stem. Unless otherwise stated, all my pipes are USED but in EXCELLENT CONDITION. I generally ream my bowls all the way back down to the original wood. I then use a special process to suck out as much of the old Tobacco flavors from the inside of the bowls as possible. However its rare that the inside of the bowls will ever be fully tasteless, so expect a slight hint of ghost-flavor on your first smoke (after your first smoke you should never again taste the old ghost-flavors). The stems ARE sanitized and cleaned out. Unless otherwise stated, they have NO tooth marks on them. Although the stems might not have tooth marks, remember these pipes are used and will naturally have small scuff marks on the bowls and stems; so don\'t be surprised if your stem, or bowl, has scuff marks on it. Please thoroughly analyze the photos before offerding. All pipes are finally waxed and buffed for presentation. My pipes are photographed in such a way to accentuate the wood grain and show details (even imperfections) otherwise invisible in normal photos.
