Hillary Clintonis an American politician and stateswoman who has been First Lady, Secretary of State in the administration of Barack Obama, and has been a United States Senator representing New York 2001-2009, and is currently a candidate for President of the United States. As First Lady she played a leading role in advocating the creation of the State Children\'s Health Insurance Program, the Adoption and Safe Families Act, and the Foster Care Independence Act. In 2000, she was elected as the first female senator from the state of New York and is the only First Lady ever to have run for public office. As senator, she supported the invasion of Afghanistan but opposed the Iraq troop surge in 2007, and she voted in oppositionto the George W. Bush tax cuts which benefited primarily the rich.Running in the Democratic primaries in 2008, Clinton\'s campaign won far more primaries and delegates than any other female candidate in American history.She was educated at Wellesley College and Yale Law School.Hillary Clinton is well represented here in this issue and is included in seven photos, including National Honor Society, Student Council, and in athletics.
