Here\'s the 1969 Krewe of Sparta Queen Gold Aluminum 10gDoubloon. The doubloon measures 39 mm or 1 1/2\" in diameter andisinExcellentCondition. Payment due within 48 hours of purchase.Note: The obverse features the Sparta Logo. The reverse features Queen Sparta 1969 and reads \"QUEEN SPARTA 1969...MRS. JOHN C. CENTANNI...NEW ORLEANS MARDI GRAS.\" These doubloons were struck on the very thick 10g (10 gauge) aluminum planchettes then anodized gold in color. 1969 was the first year the Krewe of Sparta issued doubloons. That year, they were a Ball-Only Krewe, issuing their doubloons at their Mardi Gras Ball, and making them much more difficult for collectors to obtain them.Great Pieceof Sparta and Mardi GrasMemorabilia!
