I purchased this 100% wool woven purse in Mijas, Spain in 1970 when I was touring Spain and Morocco. Mijas is up in the mountains near Marbella and donkeys were the major mode of transport at the time.

The purse is in flawless like new condition. Still bright and the psychedelic colors pulsate under artifical lighting. The photos were taken out of doors. It has been stored in a cedar trunk for 40 years. It measures 10 ½ x 10 x ¾ inches. The back and the front are identical.

The shoulder (straps) measure 34 inches each. The purse holds its shape as the knitted edging has an unknown material that is strong, taut but pliable as well. So the form of the purse is squared and will remain so. The back and front woven design is thick but soft and it appears to be tufted. It is a reflection of perfection in workmanship and superior materials of the 1970 Spanish artisan.
