VERY SCARCE, Boston RED SOX Team PAYROLL Check issued to and SIGNED by PITCHER Bill “Spaceman” Lee. Check is dated January 8th 1972 and drawn on the Red Sox ROAD ACCOUNT at the “State Street Bank and Trust Company” (Boston), paying William Lee the sum of $238.00 in salary or expenses during the 1972 baseball season. Along the bottom, it is signed by John J. Rogers, the travelling secretary for the Boston Red Sox. Bill “Spaceman” Lee has boldly SIGNED the backside of the check as follows – “Wm F. Lee” . Bill Lee was inducted into the Boston Red Sox “Hall of Fame” in 2008.

CONDITION: check measures about 3 x 8 ¼ inches in size and is in EXCELLENT, original condition. There is a light vertical fold in the center of the check and a small edge tear (1/4 inch in length) along the top (see scans). William Lee’s signature / autograph is guaranteed authentic.
