Read this please.I recently brought this 1974 Fender Stratocaster to Chicago Music Exchange to have it a quick look over. It\'s the real deal. \"Surprisingly not as heavy as most\" said the man. This really is a beautiful guitar inside and out. Asides from the very minimal wear you would see on a forty year old guitar, top notch.
This guitar with its OHSC, case candy, and black bottom pickups is a great collectors and/or players piece,a fine example of a one owner guitar.Other than four solder joints and a piece of tape this guitar is 100% original, it even has the original 3-way switch. The BLACK BOTTOM pickups are a rare treat and are quite collectable in and ofthemselves...not to mention the matching color to go with them. The frets still have plenty of life left in them. They are not brand new, however they don\'t buzz out and bending is still easy and fun. It looks like they have been dressed at some point, no concerning string dents. Plays like butter. Check out the photos below for a closeup of the frets. Addressing the solder joints and one piece of masking tape. Back in the 90\'s the bridge pickup was taken out, only to be put back in soon after. (ABSOLUTELY NO ROUTS) The two wires leading to the jack were taken out and replaced with longer wires, however they too are back in the guitar. Everything is accounted for.
The case is the cleanest case I have ever come across. The latches pop like they are brand new. The tolex would look about new if someone were to shine it up, I wanted to leave it original. The interior is almost perfect in shape with no weird smells, just that nice vintage smell. No case is complete without some good case candy, this one has plenty. The original 1/8 hex wrench is gone, but was replaced sometime ago. The patch cable is an original, but might not be original to the guitar. It works perfect. The only issue with the case is like some other cases it leans a little when placed vertically on the feet side of the case, otherwise it is fantastic.
You will only find such a complete collection once and a blue moon. Don\'t let this one get away. Please ask any questions you might have. See my 100% response on all guitars and parts sold!
