1980s My Little Pony G1 Matching Animation Cel Background & Drwng Opening Titles For Sale
I HATE TO PUT YOU MLP FANS THROUGH THIS AGAIN (OK, IT IS KIND OF FUN), BUT WE MANAGED TO SCORE ANOTHER ULTRA RARE PIECE FROM A FORMER ANIMATOR ON THE ORIGINAL MLP SERIES!This is an original production animation cel set up used during production of one of the 1985 Marvel Sunbow "My Little Pony"productions. The great piece is an untrimmed cel that measures 9"x 10.5" overall and has a great image with 4 ponies and the title! It is very rare to find any G1 My Little Pony artwork, but this piece is extremely special as it is an original animation cel, the matching hand painted production background (backgrounds are hard to find from any series, but it is very hard to get a set up like this that is as it appeared in the special), and the matching production layout drawing. Also, this appears to b e a title cel, which is extremely rare and sought after for any series, espeically something this beautiful with such a great image. This is a truly one of a kind sale...you will never see this piece again! The piece is in excellent condition, the yellow winged pony is on one layer (with the balloons), the white winged pony on the left is on another cel layer, the two baby ponies are on a third layer, and the title is on a fourth layer. The title is actually on a slightly larger cel (10.5"x 12.5", which is nice as it allows you to off register (not line up the peg holes) the image so that the rainbow doesn't cover the ponies (the first two images are off-registered, the third image has the pegt holes lined up. This is great as it EVEN HAS THE PONY CASTLE IN THE BACKGROUND! The original hand painetd background measures 10"x 14." The layout drawing actually says "My Little Pony II" which leads me to believe that this may have originally been done for Escape from Catrina (which the last cel on was also from). Sometimes a scene is created, shot and even sometimes aired, but then later on it is cut or sometimes titles are redone. So this could be imagery that was originally shown back in the 80s, but later edited so that the titles matched other MLP shows. Low opening offer and !
