Military Mermite Container

Both sides are marked: US AMF WYOTT INC. CHEY. WYO. DLA 400 82-C-0765 1982

It measures approximately 15 1/2\" tall x 20 1/4\" long x 9 1/2\" wide and weighs about 18 pounds.

I have limited knowledge on military items so I will try my best to describe this container as follows:

It does look like it was used a lot and does have small dents mostly on the lid. There are a lot of scratches, scuffs, paint loss, stains & discoloration. The hinges/latches are in working condition but the latches on the front are loose when in the closed position (one is looser than the other); when in the closed position, the lid feels like it closes down as it should. There are some small holes on the outside edge of the cover (please see last 3 photos for some of these holes). The rubber gasket looks like it is in good shape and is inact. Overall, this Mermite Container appears to be in solid, sturdy condition and looks like it would be usable for it\'s intended purpose. There are no inserts included, the inserts are missing.
