Up for offer is a rareBabe Ruth Esco Statuemanufactured by Esco (the Entertainment Statue Co.) of Canton, Ohio where the statue of Babe Ruth was made. The chalkware statue is a true pieces of art. The craftsmanship is evident, and the likenessis quite accurate. Seemingly to avoid paying royalties to the pop culture figures whose images they were using, they only did runs of 100 statues at a time for each design.Ruth statue was made in 1987 and has the original manufacturer\'s/artist marking etched on the back ofthe base.
Condition:-------------The Ruth statue weighs 9 pounds, 4 ounces. It stands 18-1/4\" in height and is in very good condition, except for two small blemishes. One on the front brim where you can see (1/8 inch length), and another on the lefthand sidejust under the cap and over the ear (1/4inch length). There are also very minor blemish on the base (please see photos). Because of the very small nature on theseblemishes, they can be repaired and color blendedeasily. I have taken more detailed photos in order to catalog & identify item properly.It is clean and does not have any noticeable or subtle odors.
