O\'Brien; PUBLISHER: Savas Publishing Company, Campbell, CA; a 1996 printing; 266 pages.The full length memoir of Civil War Private William McCarter of the 116th Pennsylvania Infantry, an Irish immigrant who was 21 years old when he enlisted in the Union Army. This book includes McCarter\'s assessments of some of the brigade\'s 1,200 men, vivid descriptions of marches and encounters with the enemy, a detailed account of the Fredericksburg Campaign, and stories of daily army life.Condition: Pages tight. DJ has a tear at the bottom and has been taped in the top corner. Overall, good condition and would make an excellent addition to any collection.
