It measures 3 inches or 7.6 cm high, and is 14 ¼ inches or 36.1 cm wide at the front.
The inkstand is paper mache with a black lacquer finish, it is hand painted with gold scrolling designs and accented in green and blue. The inkstand has two pen rests that are accented with reverse painted glass. Between them are two cut glass inkwells with metal covers and a small built in box with cover and mother of pearl handle.
The condition of the inkstand is as follows; there is wear to the hand painted gilding, the there is some painting missing from the reverse painted glass. There is some minor chips to the corners of the glass inkwells and minor denting to the covers of the inkwells. Please see the many photographs as they are an important part of the description.
