This listing is for a fine 19th century French opaline glass cache pot and cut crystal covered urn with gilt brass mounts. The cache pot measures 4 1/4 inches or 10.7 cm high and is 4 1/2 inches wide from handle to handle. The covered urn measures 9 inches or 22.8 cm high to the finial on the cover. The cache pot features 4 round ball feet and has a clear glass bottom with white opaline glass sides. It is mounted in gilt brass with a low relief medallion at the front of a young woman in profile. The urn has a square brass foot which supports the diamond cut glass body. The rim, handles and cover are brass with a cut crystal ball finial. The pieces are in overall good condition for their age. The cut glass urn has some minor fleabites throughout, as to be expected for its age. There is also age appropriate darkening to the gilt brass mounts.
