Antique Victorian wood traveling writing desk box with mirror, glass ink wells, and lidded glass boxes.12\" long, 5\" tall, 9\" deep, and weighs over 8 lbs.Desk appears to be Mahogany with brass corners, side trim, lock, key, hinges, top plaque, and similar plaque where key inserts. Lock does not work.Lift out wood tray has small brass handles and 7 compartments. Tray has four glass containers, three with nickle silver punch decorated lids and one small ink well with a glass stopper. Largest compartment has a leather covered lid with leather strap (broken).Back area, next to hinges, has four deep compartments. Two have large glass ink wells with glass stoppers. 4-1/4\" long compartment appears to be metal lined with a leather covered lid with round metal handle.Area under tray is unlined and the bottom wood has a 1/8\" crack. Most of the box compartments are lined with thick red paper.Box lid has a 7\" x 10\" fold down writing surface with a padded red leather cover and an expandable area for paper storage (last photo). A metal latch holds the writing structure in place.A 5\" x 7\" wood framed removable glass mirror with velour like material on the back,is also in the box lid.Bottom of box has a cloth surface that is mostly worn off.
