19th century arabic berber nimcha short sword, NIMCHA DAGGER De NIMCHA AFRICAIN TUAREG SABER
This is a rare variant of the berber nimcha sword from algeria.This stunning curved single edge blade is chiseled in a tipycal design and inlaid with a brass wire.
look aT the scalloped etching along the spine of the blade, this is a an example of good workmanship.
THE HILT AND THE SCABBARD ARE MADE OF CEDAR WOOD AND ENTIRELY CARVED IN A TIPYCAL ALGERIAN WAY.This motives would be a combination of two BERBER symbol, but this is hypothetical.I SEE YAQ AND YAN SYMBOLS.
wE CAN NOTE THE SCABBARD HAVE FIVE BRASS BANDS AND THE HILT IS ENCRUSTED WITH SILVER WIRES, terminated with a \" s \" shaped steel crossguard with ball terminal.Excellent overall condition.Measurements: 70cm in scabbard, curved Blade 54cm.
