Here is an OriginalOld Oil on Board Native American Indian Portrait purchased at a local estate here in Colorado.New Information from outside sources indicate this may be an actual period rendering of SITTING BULL near the end of his life (died in 1890).Judging by the antique frame and old academy board portrait is painted on thisis definitelypossibility..I tried my best to figure out who this masterful artist could be but the signatureis difficult to clearly discern.. There is a distinguishable smoking peace pipe which outlines the signature.I removed the old paper backing and the painting itself from the frame hoping to find more indications of who the artist may be but came up with nothing more.. I showed photos of the back as it originally looked before I began removal soyou can see this is a very old piece!Paint is heavily applied with brushstrokes clearly evident. The painting is in excellent condition for age with no discernable paint loss (see photos). Ornate frame has some mild chipping but still very good. Measures approx. 12\" x 15\" framed, 6\" x 9 1/8\" w/out frame.Photos are a clear indication of overall presentation.PAY PAL ONLY. PAYMENT DUE WITHIN 48HRS AFTER SALE HAS ENDED.
