Howdy!PLEASE READ the WHOLE AD& THANKS.We have here a very rareMID 19th CENTURY,FRENCH OPALINE GLASS, GRAND TOUR ROYAL PALIAS, JEWELRY / TRINKET / WHAT NOT [Easter] EGG BOX, w/ EXCEPTIONALLY RARE Enameled HANDPAINTED DECORATIONS of Flowers, Leavesand a Butterfly on the lid. This hinged box isnesting on a FANCY Metal frame decorated with bamboo and leaves.This is a beautiful piece and this type ofbox and glass is easy to identify in books on fineantiques from France, acquired during the 1850\'s & 1860\'s. This was probably purchased at a high end shop, in Paris, while on The GRAND TOUR of EUROPE.Now some 160 years later, these are highly prizedboxes from a gone by era. This is a classic shape piece w/ a VERY PLEASING, elegant design. The metal has an oldrich patina w/ some oxidation and tarnishing, which is normal and to be expected.The glass is baby butt satin smooth with a matt finish on thelight greenglass.
This is BIG, 4\'\' Tall x 5 1/2\'\' across x 3 3/8\'\' across\'\' at the widest.This is inEXCELLENTcondition!Thebox opens and closes. We see no repairs to the glass or metal. The enamelcolors are bold & vivid and it\'s void of chips or flakes. The glass is in excellent condition as well, No chips, dings, nicks, cracks or repairs.
