I am offering u a very RARE antique 19th century French lottery device game wheel of chance.This is a very rare item,the only information i found about it,was in a games-museum in France (Waterloo) they also have such a lottery device in there collection.The brass wheel has a cast iron base representing a Chinees man sitting with his legs crossed on flowers and leafs,his hair in a long braid, he is holding above his head the gambling wheel.Such devices used to sit on the bar in French taverns,while drinking one bought a numbered ticket,the brass wheel was spinning and if your number came up you were a winner.
The free spinning brass wheel rests between 2 tines on a cast iron base.Random numbers are stamped on the circumference of the wheel.Small brass flanges swing open and closed on posts and cover the numbers as the wheel spins.The base includes a floral design and a Chinees man holding the wheel.Stamped into the cast iron tines is the word; breveth and the letters; s.o.d.g.
Condition;In good original working condition,most of the paint of the cast iron feet is gone. See photos.Measures;The device is 11,4 inch high.The base is 4,7 inch diameter.The wheel is 5,2 inch wide.
