Here for sell just now, an absolutely exquisite antique circa1880-1900 Imperial Russian solid rose gold men\'s ring Memento Mori. Big andbeautiful commemorative ring commemorating the death of the famous Russian poetAlexander Pushpin in 1837, probably one of a kind. The ring has a mounted ovalcarnelian gemstone with carved intaglio cameo ~ Alexander Pushkin portrait.Truly a master work with exceptional detail. The ring is also engraved on thesides and dated 1837. Precisely fine hand-engraved/hammered human\'s skull\'\'Memento Mori\'\' symbols beneath the year and crossed dueling flint lock pistolson the other side. A great fine engraving technique with shading details onskull and pistols. An unmistakable piece of Russian jewelry art work. The ringis also marked for gold purity with 56 Zolotnik Gold Russian standard whichequals to 14k gold purity. Also master mark initials AK. The ring comes from theprivate collection of the Russian refugee White Army officer Ivan Ksenofonov,who lived in Bulgaria after 1917. I found this ring during the cleaning of hishouse in Sofia. The ring has been recently inspected by a professional jewelerwho confirmed gold purity and origin. A solid and unique jewel, total weight:15.57 grams. The ring is well preserved with minor dings and surface scratchesdue to age and wear, not significant but must be pointed.
