Description:Great original 19th century, Russian Silver Icon of JESUS CHRISTPANTOCRATOR. Hand painted with egg tempera, with 84 silver okladOldRussianImperial silver mark, the crown is gold plated. Left downcorner of casing also has a little jam.There are normal signs of aging.But over all good condition considering the age. Please look at the pictures.Historical: The Iconic image of Christ Pantocrator ( \"Christ Ruler of All\" ) was one of thefirst images developed in the early Christian church and remains a central Iconof the Eastern Orthodox church. Christ holds the New Testament in his left handand makes a gesture of blessing with his right. The quality of this Icon isvery fine and detailed with beautiful facial painting.
