19th C Antique Shaving Mug Improved Order of Redmen Fraternal Occupational Mug.
Fantastic Shaving Mug with eagle with shield stating TOTE and Freedom Charity Friendship. Edward Conrad. No chips or cracks. 3.75\" tall and wide. Gold mark on bottom. The Improved Order of Redmen dates to the Sons of Liberty in 1765. The system is designed after the governance of the Iriquois. After the war of 1812 they became the Society of Red Men. In 1834 they became the Improved Order of Redmen. The organization is chartered by the US Congress and among its members were Teddy and Franklin Roosevelt and Warren Harding.
