This is a weird antique indeed.
This is 19th century bronze/brass footscrubber for women. India women use this to remove calluses with similar pieces. They used to contain metal balls on the inside so they can make a sound and warn their couples to stay away when using them. Removing calluses was considerembarrassing but Istill think it still isnowadays.
India Footscrubbers were usually made of brass and/or bronze. They usually had an animal of some sort on the top as the handle.
Thisfood scrubber handle is made of bronze and the box is made of brass. I don\'t know what type of metal the balls are.
The size is 2.35 inches tall approx by 2 1/8 by 2 7/8 inches approx.
