Description:We are pleased to offer this 19thCentury, Qing [Ching] Dynasty, Chinese, silk, embroidered, Han-Style, robe trimin beige. These trim segments feature a motif of cranes, cumulus clouds, aswell as auspicious rebuses (i.e. ju-i scepters, bats, scrolls, bamboo holders,fans, musical stones) rendered in silk satin stitch embroidery accented withcouched gold metallic thread as well as decorative stitching. Whimsical cutouts, the unending decorative border and black silk piping provided charmingaesthetics. As these segments were removed from a robe, they show signs of wearcommensurate with age including soiling and a few loose threads (gold metallicthread).
