19th Century American Silhouette ORIGINAL Brass/Wood Frame

This is a fine package with everything being ORIGINAL! The brass-over-wood frame measures 4 x 4 3/4\". The opening is 2 7/8 x 3 1/2\". The glass, too, is original, and it has unusual smokey tint. The original gilt is almost all there and shines bright! As with most frames of this type, there is minor lifting of brass from wood. This is to be expected due to wood shrinkage.

The hollow-cut of this young woman is finely executed without any defects. She has an added graphite hair detail, which is original. This silhouette dates to circa 1825. This is a very fine package for your consideration. These early American folk art are quickly disappearing from the market.

Note: We deal in authentic 19th century silhouettes. We never mess around with questionable and \"wanna-be\" silhouettes. Just ask anyone.
