19th Century Embossed Sterling Silver Ottoman - Belt Buckle :

A really lovely antique piece that measures 2 1/2 inches wide by approximately 10 3/4 long standing upright straightfrom point to point. It measures approximately 13 3/4 inches in circumference. It possesses three semi precious stones, a larger center stone(3/4 x 1/2 inch)flanked by two smaller stones (3/8 x 1/2 inch). The workmanship is really something to behold! Beautifully embossed and embellished, the heads of the pins are even magnificent! I had some difficulty photographing this piece, due to shadows, it is very beautiful and shinny when polished. It appears to me that this was created by embossing a piece of sterling silver and then attaching it to the heavier metal, possibly brass, I cannot be sure. It has a wonderful aged patina, you can be sure that whoever owned it loved to wear it. It is in lovely condition, although not new. One of the smaller stones has a \"dent\" in it, and one of the double chains will need repair, the length appears intact, this should be an easy repair for a jeweler.
