Exceptional Museum Quality Boston Oil on Canvas Painting...19th Century Folk Art Portrait of 2 Sisters Measures 33.3\" x 42.8\" Framed in a beautiful Original Gesso Gilt frame. The portrait has been in the family of the sitters for generations and was evaluated by specialists at the DuPont Winterthur Museum in Delaware. It is unsigned by shows excellent skill. According to the family provenance it dates to approximately 1853. The subjects are Laura F. Burton (the great grandmother of the portrait\'s owner) Born May 10, 1839, and her younger sister Helen L. Burton when they were about 14 and 11 years old respectively.  A handwritten note from August 1, 1969 accompanies the painting. The envelope reads \"History of Portrait Paintined of Grandmother Wiswell and Great Aunt \"Nell\".  It is a stunning Folk Art portrait that would be a wonderful addition to any Collection private or museum. The barefoot younger sister Helen crosses her leg playfully as Laura affectionately places a garland of flowers on her younger sister\'s head.
