19th Century Pueblo Cradleboard Zia - Cochiti - Jemez

Board: 23 1/2\" tall x 9\" wide

Face Guard / Sun Shade: 16\" wide x 10\" deep

All three of these New Mexico Pueblos used a rounded single piece board with three rod collapsible face guard.Handsome patina and smoothly worn plank is evidence of multigenerational use which is common with boards that held healthy babies. (Boards associated with unhealthy babies were typically discarded.)

This would be considered a rare artifact.
