This is wonderful, early mid 19th century, likely civil war era, doctors, medical leather bag that measures approx. 7\" x 4\" x 3\". Surprisingly, the leather is in good antique condition with appropriate wear, but still has top handle intact and the brass cartouche on the front . It is first aid kit sized forhouse-calls. It is in asfound as used condition and has made a few house calls in its day helpingtreatpatients with their ailments. I love the small, portable size of this bag as can beseen in the pictures with a dollar bill for scale. a great find!
