This is a great-looking mid to late 19th century Victorian era oil on canvas painting featuring a beautiful young lady leaning on the doorway to her house with a longing Gaze on her face. In the background though faded you can see her mother that looks to be sleeping or sewing. The attention to detail in her face and the coloring is phenomenal though the painting has heavy crazing and loss to the paint here and there. There are two small holes in the canvas and the canvas is slightly loose on the sides of the original stretcher though it is a little to no concern. The portrait of the lady herself displays so well one can easily overlooked the heavily age the background of the painting. The state fresh and begging for a new life. 14 in by 17 in..
