Please note.. this pot has been damaged and restored in antiquity.. it is just as I got it in...I have not messed about with it.. this I am sure can be taken apart and re-glued to a much better standard these days...is sold as spares - repair restoration project.

This is an antique Japanese  6 sided tea or coffee pot with Dragons on the spout and handle too... might be a dragon and lizard or two dragons.. not sure really.
It has been intricately hand painted with scenes of women by a river and flowers on each panel.
With gilding all over and hand painted on some areas too of flowers.
The lid is 6 sided and domed with a BROKEN lizard or dragon on it as well.. there are 3 broken parts in a small bag inside the pot.. these are not all the bits though I dont think... so you will have to be clever.
It is signed on the base but I can\'t read Japanese so I googled it.. its a Meiji period Shimazu Clan mark with an unusual 6 sided mark and a small character below it as well... you will all KNOW what this means I am sure.
You will see it stands on 3 little feet... these are worn.
The top inside of the pot has had 2 of the sections broken out and re-glued back in. The dragon head spout has been off and so has the top of the leg of the handle part...possibly other areas too but its difficult to see.
I rather like the pot actually even though its been damaged and restored..it is still a very nice pot.

It is in fair - poor condition with normal signs of age and use wear on the 3 feet.
I have tried to photograph all the details including the chips, cracks and paintwork. There is a tiny bag of extra broken off bits that haven\'t been stuck back on from the lid.
The underside of the lid has a couple of chips too.
It measures approx. 6 inches tall and approx. 6 inches wide including the handle and spout x 3 and a quarter inch wide at the bulbous body...the top mouth part with the lid off is 2 inch wide.

See another smaller Satsuma miniature tea or coffee pot also listed today from the same deceased estate.

See the photographs which do enlarge which form part of the visual description.

Please see close up pictures for more detail.

The item(s) are shown next to an English 1 penny which is 20mm (11/16th\'s inch) diameter for scale.
