A lovely 19th century oil painting of depicting children playing by a well. The boy is guarding the well from the girl who wants to fill it up with water, he does have a mischievous look on his face. Beautifully painted, it is a good example of the genre. Most likely continental school, it was bought from the same collection as another painting I am selling \"children feeding ducks\" and could well be by the same hand. Please see the other painting as they would look superb displayed as a pair.
