Offered for your consideration today is this lovely pair of antique portrait miniatures. As you can see, this pair includes an unidentified young gentleman as well as a young lady. While the paintings are identically framed and appear to have been done by the same hand, only the painting of the gentleman is signed along the right edge of the painting; it appears to say Charles Ross 1852. I am not sure of the medium for these paintings (perhaps gouache or oil?) as I was reluctant to disturb their frames and risk damaging them. That being said, I do know that these are two very striking and aesthetically pleasing paintings that deserve to be proudly displayed together as they have apparently been since the mid 19th Century. The paintings themselves measure approximately 2 1/2\" by 3 1/8\" and 3 1/2\" by 4 1/4\" as framed. Thanks for looking.
