  • Dated May 25, 1896 sent to a Passed Assistant Engineer F.W. Bartlett from the Washington Bureau of Navigation, \"Sir, Hold yourself in readiness for orders to the U.S.S. Massachusetts, Very Respectfully,\" and is signed by the Chief of Bureau. The docket is endorsed by Captain R. H. Cooper, Superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy and C.W. Roe, Chief Engineer USN, Head of Department.
  • Dated June 2, 1896, orders to Bartlett to report the U.S.S. Massachusetts, signed by the Secretary of the Navy, H.A. Herbert. Endorsed on the docket, Captain Cooper, USNA, Commander of U.S. Navy yard, League Island, and Captain F. Rodgers, Commanding U.S.S. Massachusetts.
Both are in very good condition; creasing from being folded, some staining and other soiling, possible water stains.
