Here is a simply gorgeous pair of Russian Russia Imperial Silver Cordials! (3&3/8\" tall X 1&1/4\" wide at base)These were hand crafted by a superior Silversmith Nikolay Strulev in Moscow between 1896 and 1908.They areHallmarked: HC whichis Cyrillic for Nikolay Strulev and is hallmarked a FIRST Kokoshnik Mark (left facing women\'s head) with AA. The hallmark ison the bottom and on the side of each Cordial. Please read on for more history on these marks which tell the history of these beauties....
This First Kokoshnik Mark was used from 1896 to 1908 only.The mark consisted of an intaglio engraved left facing women\'s head in profile within an oval Cartouche. She is wearing the peasant headdress traditonally referred to as a Kokoshnik.To her left is the Standard Number (84), to her right are the assayer\'s initials (AA) which indicate the assay office.84 = .875 Pure Imperial Silver.These weigh 58 grams total.They are slightly different as would have been with unique handmade Silver.Don\'t let these get away. You will be hard pressed to find anymore of these by this Silversmith.
In really nice shiny condition, with minimal age related surface marks. I have lightly polished to check for hidden problems and I found them problem free.I recommend to re-polish for use and display, there is more tarnish to remove.I have other antique STERLING items up for sale.
