These tall, vertical wall plaques or bas reliefs are made of plaster painted with a bronze finish and framed in wood.
I believe these panels depict ancient architecture in Jerusalem. I have not had the privilege of visiting the Western Wall, but when I went on the Internet and looked up pictures of that part of the world, these seem to match. In addition, a third plaque I purchased at the same sale made by the same artist specifically depicts people praying before the Wailing Wall.
The clothing makes me think of Rabbis or religious people perhaps of another era. I would date this piece to the 1960\'s and there is a signature at the bottom of one of the pair.I cannot find another set like this anywhere. These measure an impressive 19\" H x 7.5\" W. Each weighs 2 pounds.
I also have a smaller plaque much like these which depicts the Wailing Wall on if you want them all.
