I haven\'t been able to research these. The first letter (4 pgs.) was written by George Rogers to \"Dear Friend\", from \"City Barracks\" Jan. 22, 1862. He spends a few lines talking about certain \"ladies\". Although easy to read, takes a little longer to put the sentences together. No unit was mentioned. (SEE 1st 4 photos)
The second letter (3 pgs.) was written by J.T. Hane(s?), to \"Dear Sister,\" from \"Camp on Potomac Creek, Feb 18, 1863.\"He has a lot of content...Not getting paid, items available at the Sutlers, and how the Army would be better of, allowing older soldiers more furlough time. This is a very nicely written letter.Small writing, a little faded, but good penmanship!I have enhanced the copies in the photos, to make them easier to read. (last 8 photos).
