These new-old-stock tubes have been tested for mutualconductance. On my Hickok TV-7 tester they read 70/68 and 73/72. A reading of 36 would represent theminimum recommended value. These new-old-stock Tung-Sol tubes are from 1960’sUSA production.
The 6AS7 low-mu twin triode was originally designedfor video applications but more often is found as a pass tube in voltageregulators. The heater is 6.3 V, 2.5 A. The 6AS7 is rated at 26 watts total.Variants include 5998, 6080, 6082, 6520, 7105 and 7236.
The 6AS7 has been used in radio transmitters,commercial as well as industrial equipment and more recently has found a loyalfollowing with scratch builders for its application in audio amplifiers.
