These vases (5/9 inches tall) were designed by Herbert Oberender for his Artis series for Scherzer. There 8 sizes in this series. It is part of my collection of German Op Art ceramics, which has been shown alongside 125 other pieces in two museum exhibitions on the topic. The exhibition, \"German Op-Art Ceramics: 1955-1975\", has been the only definitive academic study on this genre. It included a large section on Rosenthal designer Martin Freyer, new research on Scherzer designers Herbert Oberender and Werner Uhl, and all of the production of the elusive Heinrich Fuchs, of whom little is known.
