FINE ART POTTERY

A set of 2 raremice sculptures signed by Verdelle Gray. They measure approximately 2 3/4\" - 2 7/8\" in height and 2 3/4\" - 3 1/8\" in diameterwith one being a tiny bit larger than the other. They are different as the tail on one is brought up betweenthe ears and over the nose where the other has the tail in front of both ears going over the nose. Each one ismarked/signed on the bottom incised \"Verdelle\".The finish on these is a transcending, rich blue gloss glaze which resembles mini-like crystals. Bottoms are unfinished. They are not scratched - white spots in the photos are simply reflections of the light. There are no chips, cracks, crazing, hairlines or repairs. They are in exceptional condition and would make a wonderful addition to a collection!

The artist: Verdelle Gray is listed in the Lehner\'s Book of Marks as well as Who Was Who in American Art exhibited at the Syracuse Nationals in 1949 and 1956. Gray is a graduate of the prestigious School for American Craftsmen, at Alfred.
