2 Rare Royal Doulton Series Ware KOOKABURRA & WATTLE D4206 Seriesware Plates a/f:

You are invited to offer on a 2 Royal Doulton \' KOOKABURRA\' Seriesware side plates. Both plates feature a Kookaburra sitting on what I believe is a wattle branch. On one of the plates the wattle decoration is brown and the Kookaburra is facing right and on the other the wattle is the more traditional green colour and the kookaburra is facing left. Both plates have a black painted border which is slightly wider on the plate with the green wattle.

Condition:The left hand plate is in very good vintage / used condition and I can see no cracks, hairlines or glaze crazing. There is an overglazed manufacturing flaw at @11 o\'clock and a tiny nibble to the rim at @10 o\'clock (please see photos 3 & 4). The right hand plate has a small section at @3 o\'clock that may have been restuck (see photo 7) but this is how I purchased the item. There is still a small piece missing and on the underside is a small chip in the same area (see photo 8) - the plate probably got struck on the side of the rim ? This plate also has fine clean glaze grazing.

Backstamp: On the rear of both plates is the printed Royal Doulton backstamp and on the plate with the brown wattle I can also see the handwritten pattern number D4206 and an impressed Doulton mark.

Each plate is @14 cms (51/2inches) in diameter and I estimate the parcel will weigh @600gwhen packed.

The following may be boring but it is important information so please do take the time to read.

Sometimes a small portion of the P&P quote is to cover my postage and packing costs which include lots of bubble wrap and foam chippings, especially on larger / heavier items (I only charge a minimal fee for this).

also now charge 10% commission on the postal costs which I believe is unjust. This commission will, on occasions, be added to the postage charge - particularly on heavier and therefore more expensive to post items. Royal Mail have also changed some of their services and prices have again increased. Please feel free togo online to check the actualpostage quoted and when the parcel arrives please check the price on the parcel against what you were actually charged on the listing before leaving response (please take into account the 10% commission). Please leave your response based on this and not because you feel the postage costs were high -I cannot be held personally responsible for s fees nor Royal Mails postal prices and do not intentionally overcharge on postage.If when the parcel has been posted I have charged too much I will refund some of postage accordingly.

Please also note:Although the item will be very well packed and wrappedand every effort will be made on my part to try to ensure that the item reaches the winning buyer in the condition described above, I cannot unfortunately be held responsible for any items lost by the Postal Service.
